INTRODUCTORY CLASSES for children ages 4-6 years old

At the Dance Workshop we offer introductory classes for children between the ages of 4-6. At this age we combine ballet, tap and theatre so that the children may experience the different styles of dance and then choose their preferences as they get a bit older and move up into the grades.

All our graded (IDTA) ballet classes are on Saturdays and are payable by the term. The classes are geared towards exams but are optional. Levels start with Introductory Minimum age 4 up to advanced levels.

Tap classes also run on Saturdays from Primary grade to grade 5. Children need to work through the grades in order to develop a solid technique. Therefore if a child starts as a beginner at a later age they would still need to start at primary - grade 2 level. We try to accommodate late beginners whenever/wherever we can.

Classes in street are young starters; junior class and senior class. These classes are on Saturdays. See timetable. Children may take a medal in all street dance classes

Contemporary for 8 - 11 year old. Saturdays 4.30 pm. This class explores both creative work and technique. It is for children who may not have experience in other dance forms but not exclusively. For older students who have experience of not only contemporary but also ballet there is a class at 4.00pm. Ages 15 upwards

This is a new addition to our programme. We will be taking children from 4 years +

Each class takes a maximum of 10 pupils. It is preferable if the children also take ballet alongside acro but in the very early stages is not essential. After level 1 ballet as extra training is compulsory. Now taking names.

It is advisable to email or call to ensure your child's class is running, as the timetable can be subject to change, thank you.
